Tigridia

Photo of a tigridia flower. This is a bulb that is easily available but doesn't seem to be commonly planted. The flowers are beautiful and each lasts one day. It is a treat to come upon them as you walk around the yard.

    I have had the honor of seeing this 1 day flower pop up in a pot that I was starting tiger lilies. I don't have a clue how they got there...(divine intervention!) but, mine have yellow outer petals with dark red spots in the inner cup. There isn't ANY that I have seen around where I live...Ft. Bragg, Ca. I'm totally clueless to how they got into that ONLY POT!!! Any help??!
